Dorothy Wood
I was born in a small textile village on the N W edge of Bradford Yorks UK, the middle daughter of three girls. The family, including mum and dad, was attached to the local Methodist Church and Sunday School.

I was brought up in the drab austere war years. I left school to work aged 16yrs in the welfare office of a large well-known Bradford mill; several job changes followed.

All things concerning Faith in a living God have been my main focus and search in life. I became a committed Christian aged 15yrs – a wonderful and significant development in my life. Nevertheless, faith is tested and my life became a series of closed doors, painful spinal disc problems, heartbreaks and loss causing confusion and depression: a wobble but but not a death of faith! However! my life wonderful changed and transformed in mid-life. Geoff, the human subject of the book was integral to the dramatic and joyous developments!

In my teens started training as a Methodist Local Preacher but this was cut short when I decided to enter Nursing.

I have done personal studies on the main Christian Denominations and the main religions of the world.

I enjoy writing poetry, humour and gardening,- nurturing flowers, shrubs, trees and ponds.

I enjoy the countryside and all things related. Have loved walking and exploring the countryside, loving animals especially wild birds.

My husband and I have enjoyed pet dogs (singly!), fish tanks and ponds.

Music has been a strong interest in my life enjoying many kinds - have loved Beethoven, The Beatles and Abba! Spent many years in the local church choir. Started to learn the keyboard in middle-age but failed to continue.
